Farm House

Status: Current / Ongoing

Location: Chhatarpur Farms, Delhi

This project's concept takes inspiration from traditional architecture with courtyards as a central conceptual driver. It puts a strong accent on the use of natural and locally available building materials like sandstone, earth etc.

Interesting building footprint with approximately 6000 sqft built up area in two levells with beautiful lush green courtyards and retention walls. The two levels are connected through internal staircase and also through courtyard with a dramatic play of steps.

The sandstone on facades, pergolas and arctificial contours made by excavated earth as the lower level was -6', added gripping and compulsive character to the design.

All the floors have big terraces and balconies which can be used as terrace gardens and as an extended part of the living room. The lawn at the lower ground level syncs so well with the layout and can be used as an extended living area when required. The design does not allow the eye to settle in one place and the right balance between all the elements makes it a composite and a well-planned design.
